Rose Colored Glasses

Rose Colored Glasses

This is my world.

Favorite song of the Summer.

Hands down this song was a true testament of the power and emotion behind the sweet persona of Adele.

I didn’t listen to Adele 19, but Adele 21 has surpassed any expectation I held of the 23-year-old Brit. (& I completed that sentence in my head with the strongest British accent I could muster up).

Catch her live at Largo at the Coronet in L.A. A beast.

Q
um, what internship do you have where you get to meet NKOTBSB? because I feel like I should apply... lol :)
A

I intern with The Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s “The Voice.” It’s a radio show for children’s hospitals in Atlanta.  And yes, I think you should apply! I have had an amazing experience thus far.

Heartthrobs.

Look who stopped by the internship… *melts inside*

New Kids on the Block members Johnathan & Jordan Knight and Joey McIntyre. A.J. McLean (my fav) and Howie Dorough from The Backstreet Boys.

Nick Lachey and Brian Littrell from The BSB. Donnie Walhberg and Danny Wood from NKOTB.

I felt like a 3rd grade school girl squealing and squirming at their every move and corny joke.  Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block all in one room?

Heaven.

England does it again.

First, there was Joss Stone, then Adele, VV Brown and now Jessie J.  With a textured tone, flawless range and creative edge Jessie J is making a name for herself in a r&b popish indie twisted kinda way (one I am actually quite fond of). Check her out—I’m definitely a fan.

I really like this song titled, “Price Tag”

Google Plays (literally.)

In memory of Les Paul, inventor of the solid-body electric guitar, Google transformed its trademark title into an actual e-guitar. Check out my song by clicking the title & you can make your own little tune today here.

Rock on.

She’s so self-conscious. She has no idea what she’s doing in college. The major that she major in don’t make no money, but she wont drop out her parents will look at funny.

Soapbox Pick: Janelle Monae

I took this photo from here

Isn’t she lovely? Yes, indeed.

Unfortunately, people around the world have said their prayers, climbed in bed and fallen asleep on one of the most versatile artists to hit the scene. Her music style and fashion sense are beyond eclectic and her ability to combine hyper-modern sound techniques with classical instrumentation is flawless.

I remember seeing her in concert at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta about 3 years ago. She opened for Gnarls Barkley and what an experience it was.  Her energy filled the venue and stirred the souls of every concert attendee.  She danced out of her clothes and chic up-do and even surfed the crowd. Literally. I was definitely inspired and have yet to lose interest.

So, to find out more about Monae and all she has in store click here.

And that’s my soapbox pick of the week.
